Competing nationally on a consistent basis puts Punahou in a position to be ranked.

thats okay, when St Louis or Kahuku beat them then maybe the rankinds will be fare. they are good and will have a good season but their name is known because of recent grads like Manti, Robby, Dalton, Isaac, Luke and upcoming guys like Canton. but that doesnt make them the best. kahuku and St louis deserve to be in the ranking. we have to remember these lists are made by people who never ever come to hawaii to even watch a game.

A game in 1974 would have been played in Honolulu Stadium. Aloha Stadium did not open until the 1975 football season.

Helix High School is in La Mesa, but the Punahou – Helix game is being played on the campus of Cathedral Catholic High School in the northern part of the City of San Diego.

Thanks, pukahead, but the Oregon game was in 1974 at Aloha Stadium, I am looking at a Ferd Lewis story from that day right now.

Verner Ah Ching and Scott Mosher ran for 176 yards together, 168 of them in the first half.

I wish I had stats for Mosi’s game at Utah on 1973, but that is going to have to wait until next summer unless someone can produce a clip for me.

The Orem (Utah) game was in 1974 at BYU to showcase heavily-recruited Mosi Tatupu to the Cougar coaching staff.

The South Salem (Ore.) game was in 1973.

Actually, the Punahou-Edison game in ’99 happened in Hawaii, if I recall. Just letting you know.
