I am a Head Coach in the State of Washington and we played our first game this past Saturday.
It was an awesome sight to see the kids on both teams flying around with a lot of energy and passion.
What people have to remember sports is about what is good for kids. I wish the people who are making these decisions about being able to play would have showed up at all the high school games across the state to see what kids have been missing, having fun and competing.
To be honest, watching our kids play on Saturday brought tears to my eyes and made me emotional because they were finally doing something they loved.
Let the kids be kids and not let politics be the obstacle to playing.
Unfortunately, we are only allowed 200 total to include players/coaches and support staff so very limited spectators.
Read the science as it relates to high school athletics.
I wish the best of luck to the athletes of Hawaii that common sense will prevail in the long run.

At least ILH is playing sports, not all but most. OIA ain’t doing jack crap. Now OIA spring will lose two years in a row. Total bull. Let tourist in by the thousands everyday but our own kids cannot play high school sports. Hawaii has the worst state leadership. Shame on all of you in position of authority.

The ILH had a great opportunity to show leadership this week.

Do the private schools realize that parents don’t just send their kids to private school academic opportunities? The private schools extra curriculum opportunities that allow our kids to compete at the highest level of athletics.

I had a great coach who would always say, “The will to win is not important. It’s the will to prepare to win that separates those who wish or dream from those who make it happen.”

I hope the ILH is preparing for Fall 2020 sports.

Our kids need to get back in school period! Look at all all the suffering from grades to spikes in suicides under 18! The “science” has shown kids are not only barely affected but are also not spreading it! Look at all the states that have gone back to school already! The data it available! If you are scared and have someone elderly or immune compromised at home continue to offer online schooling as an option. Help these kids!
