The HHSAA is not looking for a real champion. One ILH team to the state open division. STL and Punahoe ranked one and two in the state but only one going. Three oia teams going, it’s so rigged. Common on not all of us it that dumb, let the best teams play.

Teams like Waianae Farrington Leilehua Play with home grown talent. No recruitment necessary. DJ is now coaching at Campbell. He has about six players from Kapolei. ILH
Especially St. Louis only go after the best. Check the roster.

@Footballyoubet..stop whining. Just because your team(s) get owned and beaten on the field doesn’t mean you take your ball, go home and pout. Dry your salty tears welling up in your eyes and deal with the real world. Typical case of inferiority complex. LOL!

PS If the OIA had more coaches like Wendell Luke (IMO one of the best HS Fball HCs in the country) they would win more titles. If look had the talent that HC Hernandez at Kapolei has they would be a dynasty. Coach Toothpick does less with more.

Looks like the transfer rule is out and kids can transfer without sitting out a year. Rumor is Campbell is getting in alot of transfers from Kapolei and Kahuku. I’m sure the ILH will lift the ban on transfers and watch for St. Louis and Punahou to cash in on all the studs in the OIA. Wouldn’t be surprised if Mililani kids transfer out. This must not be sitting well with Coach Yorkie because he could lose the best QB in state along with one of the best receivers in Ryan Chang who was hardly used except on 3rd downs mainly. Go figure that. Guess the coaches don’t know their personnel up in Mill town. Anyways good luck to all the schools this upcoming season.

Why is it only the Kahuku alumni’s are always complaining about Private Schools taking kids from their community? That’s 2 of the 200 kids in their community who would be part of that Days of Our Lives school. This is American, don’t enforce your Days of Our Lives ideas on the smart people. All of Kahuku’s kids should transfer out to show their non support for stupidity that’s reflected by the KHS administration! Or just swallow your medicine again when Taulia Tagovailoa shows up in Crusader uniform to run the tables in the Open State Championship Game AGAIN! I hate stupid comments from people who never played football!

Bottom line , best top 6 teams be in there and I don’t care what any of you , real football people know the top 3 ILH is in the top 6 , it’s proven year in year out . This is facts guys not fables. All this crying about ILH stealing kids is horrendous. That’s what private schools are made for , kids from all over , it’s the same in the mainland , only Hawaii people grumble cause their communities don’t make it. Fact is ,get better coaches and win more that’s all to it . Once u establish winning you will stay up there. Mililani is a prime example of start winning and the turn out will be better. Again top 6 , meaning the best, real football people know the truth. Cry babies

Maybe to make it equitable, they should raise the required GPA to 2.75 for all schools, public and private, to participate in athletics.

This is from Scoringlive regarding the Open Division may be playing each other twice like the ILH does it…1st Round / 2nd Round 10 games…

“Open Division will be slightly different however.

The current option is a double round-robin schedule with each team playing each other two times during the regular season, but Tanaka said the OIA is looking at other possibilities.”

Well if we going talk about fair then ILH schools should only get kids from there own community, just commenting on someone’s comment. Also I feel too that Leileihua and Kailua should be in the open too. If we only have 6 teams in the open who’s going to pick up the void of the 2 games? RR4LIFE!!!
