proud of u dylan …..theres soo much talented kids all across the state from the smallest to the biggest schools . i just hope n pray that the ppl responsible for picking or selecting our athletes are fair and honest . congratulations to all players #chase ur dreams# the school don’t make the player #

@auwe2. . . You say God bless our high school football players but you asking that we concentrate on 1 senior bowl? Again, the more chances the kids get the better, if you only had 1 then imagine all the kids who would have gotten left out. And are you 100% accurate with how the selection process is being made? Or just assuming? When you say “we should concentrate” who the hell is “we”, and “Because some Coaches is., if you don’t blow you don’t go..” what are you accusing the coaches of here. Now the JPS senior classic next month will have 2 games 4pm will be the div1 and the open (red vs blue) at 7. Back when there was only 1 senior game, there was only Oahu players playing and good luck making that roster if you was white or blue division.

I agreed with Auwe…
The Poly Bowl is WhoYouKnowBowl.. They should have there own selectors to go out to schools and check the status of players, special their grades but not hand picked by there Coaches… Because some Coaches is., if you don’t blow you don’t go..
We should concentrate to 1Senior Bowl for high schools.
What happen to East play West?. Samoan Bowl?. All Star?. JPS?.. etc.

@auwe. . . Not taking away from those you mentioned, but they would have to put up triple the numbers they already have. D1/Open on Oahu is totally different animal then outer island, and for Mizutani, it’s tough being he plays for Iolani and you also have Cordeiro and Barber playing in the ilh. The standard to make this roster is pretty high. Their are 3 other all star games being played here as well, Jps senior bowl Nov 24th, Life Champion Bowl on Kauai Dec2, Jps classic in January. Maybe they’ll make those rosters.

Unknowns in D1/Open probably puts up better numbers on those lesser division schools than the kids you mentioned. That’s why they’re not considered.

The Poly Bowl is becoming the “Politics Bowl”. Yes most of these kids are all Legit, but it feels like some kids are getting chosen just because of the team that they are on. Dont get me wrong, This Toilolo kid is the real deal, but some of the other choices are strictly based off of popularity. I feel that other kids who dont go to big name schools should get some recognition and the shot that they deserve. Look at Neighbor island teams or even consider kids at smaller schools perhaps? The voters need to realize that some of the best players in the state are from smaller D1/D2 schools. Faufata-Pedrina and Arecchi have lead their team to a 10-3 Record. Iolani’s QB Mizutani leads the state in total offense. Kona’s Ewing has dominated D1 competition. Where’s the love for these kids? These boys can ball too. Its not their fault that they dont get as much exposure as these Big school kids get.
