The changes this year issue in a new era in high school football. All major games between Top 10 teams should be played in the most favorable, neutral conditions, and that is Aloha Stadium. The concessions there though, are highly OVER PRICED. Allow participating schools to set up concessions in the parking lot if need be, and the cost of stadium overhead absorbed by ticket sales.

KAHUKU DONT RECRUIT?? Hahaha that’s the joke of the season!! I remember reading kids from Utah, New Zealand and Samoa leavening their high school to play football for kahuku only to leave after football season and return to their high school to graduate. STOP IT!! We all know what schools recruit some more the others and this been happening for more then 30 YEARS!! That’s why new rules are being implemented every now and then to stop this but people find loop holes and take advantage of it then new rules are thought up. ILH been recruiting longer then OIA and they have the money for the facilities so they will always have the upper advantage. Teams will play and there will only be one winner. Let the schools play with team/player rules enforced!

Most of the people in the legislature are ILH grads. You think it’s a coincidence that Kahuku can’t get funding for a new field? They think that by keeping us on crappy conditions, it’ll weaken us and make us lose. They don’t know that when you grow up hated like us, all the punches they throw at us only makes us stronger. Rig the game, stack the refs with Saint Lulu grads, call penalties on us for no reason, we still rise. RRFL!

I find it so intriguing how those outside of Kahuku, especially the ILH love to brag how their facilities, amenities, and teams are much greater than the OIA…….. DUH! can’t believe this argument still continues today ….cʻmon all of you so called ILH Geniuses! You should know the answer ….. it is amazing what MONEY can buy…… it is why ILH refs can officiate ILH vs OIA games, it is why ILH can call the shots …….. and you wonder why ……. FEAR, SHAME, Frustration that the peasant schools of the OIA are not as easy a push over win as once thought. SHAME on the ILH FOR THEIR ARROGANCE … again Money. Shame on the OIA, THE DOE, what a sad story that the field floods ……. that is a Buch or horse C__P, if that was the case can someone from the DOE explain how a new building is being built in the corner of the Kahuku field, no raised foundation, no nothing. TO those who like to poke and jab and make fun of recruiting ….the joke is on you Mililani has been doing this for years with their other sports like soccer and Baseball and then Football caught up. Kahuku don’t recruit, kids RETURN because they want to come home ……. nuff already ……. ILH, OIA, DOE shame on all of you

To do the haka in the middle of the field may be too much in the eyes of some. But, I wonder why it’s not allowed to be done on their own sideline? Doing the haka in the locker room or at the end of the game just doesn’t cut it.

Home field is home field. The advantages are numerous including family and friends in a more intimate setting, the history and mana of playing at the same field your family and friends played on, raising funds for your schools athletic teams, short drive to and from the game, earlier bedtime for early practice the next day, and most important because it is their “home field/turf” that they want to defend and play with a little more pride and effort. Life isn’t fair and we don’t talk about equality because it will never be so. What we need to do is allow the home teams a chance to gain a profit if it is moved because the Red Raider nation spends money to feed their families and when it is moved our teams lose out on several thousand dollars that help them immensely. To some schools (Im not saying which ones) it isn’t a big thing but for a school that has multiple sports going into playoffs, we are constantly raising funds for bus transportation and other needs for the teams and the concessions help alleviate some of the costs. In the end, it is still better to play than to not so I will support my team from my comfortable couch and hope that things will continue to improve. GO BIG RED!
