And to answer your question, I would say ask the fine students of Kahuku HS. They are top notch and would probably give you a much more scholarly response than I ever could.

The website says that Kahuku has 1464 total students in grades 7-12. So let’s assume there’s an average of 244 kids per class (even though there are more students in high school). So Let’s assume that Kahuku graduates (assuming they graduate) between 244-275 a year.

Of those kids, maybe 4-5 on average get a full ride to a D1 college. That is a between 1.8-2.5% give or take a few percent every year.

And that is what you guys are banking on? People travel to Vegas to gamble with odds much higher and often come home broke. This is asinine

And based on the sliding scale for grades HOHATER, you just need to qualify. I don’t think a 2.0 GPA is really good. But you might think it is is you have low standards.

The smart play is do well in school. Get tutors, do the work, support the kids at home. There is always grants and student loans. The smart and safe play is to go the school route.

Football is nice, but the numbers are low on who gets free money. And with CTI, I wouldn’t let my kid play football. It’s just not worth it. I will get teased, but I am all for golf and tennis now days. I look at my Prep Bowl ring, and with all the headaches I get, I wish I didn’t play.

I prefer quality of life.

Pay no attention to this clown. He’s a Kahuku alumn that never made the football team and got his application rejected to Punahou, Twice. So now he’s mad with the world.

The public high school my kids attend is very very good at holding their end of the education process. Each kid is required to have a edline account, each teacher is required to update their edline report of each student once a week. They send emails and voicemail to keep parents up to date with the schools events, I know if my kid skipped class, Didn’t do homework etc by the end of said class, not scoll but that class…. communication is key and this school got there sh!t together…. I’m not naming the school cause I don’t want to start a whole debate on who’s school is better or whatever.

You drinking way 2MUCH HATERADE!!! LOL… I’m sure the kids that get college offers have good grades… well most of them that i know… Nowadays almost every college recruiter goes to the registers office and takes a look at kids grades before they offer them… It just saves from all the hassle! Gone are the days of offering scholarships to kids that can’t cut it in the classroom!!! Believe or not some parents do care about grades… LOL! Good for you that you seem to be able to pay out of pocket for your kids college, not every family got that kind of money that you got… alot of these kids use football as a tool to get a college scholly! But hey im sure they will keep winning championships and their kids will keep going to college and the NFL and you keep hating on… In the end i’d just worry about my own kids future instead of judging other parents…. especially if you aren’t 100% sure that people in kahuku don’t care about academics… last thing we need in this world are people judging others! AH ole MY BRADDAH… sorry i didnt really care to properly type this… lol
