If Gorman really saw value in playing Kahuku they would take the plane ride out here. Money ain’t no issue for them but instead of wasting money they had you guys come visit them.
Remember real teams. Two #1 ranked teams took the plane ride & came out here to man up against St. Louis & all you guys got was a 2nd best Cal Poly. You think your program pumps out the elite? Elite is measured in different ways & it ain’t winning single digit “Hawaii Championships”.

And here’s another word of advice, ACT LIKE YOU BEEN THERE BEFORE. Although the majority of you “adults” never did experience the hype of winning a championship & are living through these kids. The first thing about being humble is acting the part not acting the fool. Parties, Parades & all the extra BS is silly.
Gorman? I guess its an experience being that 95% of the kids won’t be playing beyond high school ball. Maybe in the future Gorman will come here looking to play you. I’ve heard Form an & De La Salle did that in the past.

It’s going to be an honor to be able to play BG, win or lose and because not only for football but the experience of traveling to the mainland and how this trip will be remembered for the rest of their lives. It doesn’t matter and it’s not an important issue if Kahuku loses and drops in the rankings because it’s all about who will be the number 1 team at the end of the season regardless if it is Kahuku or someone else. Be humble because your mockery of Kahuku will make you eat your words someday.

If its more than 1% of public school athletes going to college I’d be surprised. Very surprised. And we not talking just one year & pau. We talking a successful collegiate career.

I didn’t say. “how much more better public schools would be with players simply will not happen as long as private schools are around.” With the resources to recruit, it would provide the ILH schools with “blue chip” players from within the state and that’s an advantage that the ILH has over the OIA schools. The OIA schools must play with home grown athletes. It’s reason to believe that “blue chip” players that are recruited by ILH schools are more apt to receive several college scholarships and this is a reason that the ILH has more percentage of athletes going on to college. College football scholarships are the ticket to further any athlete’s education whether they’re from an ILH or any public high school in Hawaii. Your 1% of Kahuku’s athletes going to college is a manini percentage and I defer to address that issue because you’re just blowing smoke..and what is to you what percentage goes to college..it’s their life and choice when they face the world because your concern doesn’t count.

Public schools should play public schools PERIOD!!!!!
These private schools can go play mainland private schools. That’s how should be!!!!
To me, it’s just another way to keep our people down by the so called football powers where they can offer an athlete “candy” to be on their team…
What’s fair is fair!!!
If all us was to boycott our young athletes from attending silver spoon schools,(attending just for a sport) that would be fair… You play where you from PERIOD!!!
Go play I get more money than you someplace else!!!
I wanna see TRUE HAWAII FOOTBALL!!!
TRUE COMMUNITY PRIDE FOOTBALL!!!!!!
Time to change up the whole HHSAA!!!

Something worth “imagining” is simply something not real..So whatever fantasy you got imagining how much more better public schools would be with their players simply will not.happen as long as private schools are around. But take you little imagining mind to this. What if you had all your “blue chip” kids at public schools. How much of them would take advantage of bottom tier education to go to college? I think the percent will still be at 1%. Which means all you life or die high school fanatics need to stop.living through high school football & push these kids to get off.of.this island. It doesn’t start with the kid, it starts with the adults.

But what other single sport do you have 60, 70, 80 maybe even an absurd 100+ players? None unless you count the entire track n field team. Look at any university or college and you see the same kind of support other than traditional basketball powerhouses in Duke or North Carolina. It should be sweeter to win states when the OIA team beats two ILH teams to get it. We will see what they say then. Good luck to all. RRFL.

Public school people aren’t crying about how the ILH has the resources to go out and recruit top athletes within the state. They’re just making a legitimate statement. It’s no secret as you’ve mentioned, private schools pump out more college athletes than public schools only because they are able to recruit the “blue chip” players that are amongst the top players in the state. Just imagine if the private schools were to field a team with players whose parents are able to afford the tuition and not be able to recruit, they would have a mediocre team and not as many players would be offered college scholarships. Simple as that, it’s a no brainer. It’s sounds that you’re bothered by how supportive the community is about the football program and it’s only because we have the athletes that are football players and Kahuku is the pride of the Northshore. There’s no where in Hawaii that the support and pride is much greater than Kahuku’s and just to reiterate to you…yes Kahuku is all about football but we are able to compete just as much as any high school in other sports. It’s more than 1% that have made something of themselves…Kahuku has the most NFL players from Hawaii and it’s an accomplishment and we’re proud of it.

I going tell you again what I’ve been saying the whole time here. The rules for the state tournament benefits the OIA because they have the most teams representing. 4 teams respresenting the OIA gives a high percentage of winning the State tournament. Out of those 4 teams you got the 2nd, 3rd & 4th seed teams that are ranked lower than the ILH 2nd place team every year. So being that they are trying to change the rules to 2 ILH teams is great because it should be 2 ILH teams. Rather than having 1 quality team out of 4 OIA teams every year. Adding a 2nd seed ILH team may add more quality to the state tournament games.

Now on the other end of “recruiting”. When are you public school crybabies gonna stop using the excuse of “recruiting”. ILH is funded financially, offer greater opportunities & because of that they can recruit. I’m sure if not all, majority of you wouldn’t turn down a full ride to play for Punahou, St. Louis or Kam. If you did turn it down than you wouldn’t know what putting yourself in the best opportunity is. Its no secret, private schools pump out more college athletes than public school does. Why? Because of the mindset long term goals rather than a short term meaningless accomplishment. Believe me, private schools are built to further education by prepping them for college.

And for me to say football is all Kahuku has out there. ITS TRUE! Besides having each other what else you guys got besides a quality shirt printing program at Kahuku? Only got football, you see anyone supporting your volleyball or basketball team like they do football?? I don’t think so. All I see is RR flags & bed sheets with spray painted art in front every house when it comes to football season. And what’s sad is that generations after generations think that after football its done. Nothing to further their lives but revolve it around high school football. All the talent all shoot their load early & don’t make it past high school. If they do its a sad 1% that try to make something of themself. Very sad!

@IDK

Bulleh…. We speak English out here. I know one of our social media buddies posted your English progress at Kahuku & it ain’t firing on all cylinders. Start using the English words & keep your head in them books.
