“before you yap about the OIA schools, know the truth about how the ILH recruits and provide tutoring to the athletes so that they could bring their grades up and maintain the minimum GPA requirement”

ok, I can see this happening. but why cant this happen at an OIA school?, I have seen OIA coaches implement study halls and collaborate with teachers, parents and community peeps to provide tutoring to those struggling.

I dont see this as a lack of money thing, I feel like it is a lack of leadership and vision.

Evidently, you cannot read or comprehend. You’re taking words out of context….never stated that the reason why the kids are smarter at Iolani or Punahou is due to the recruitment of football players. Try reading my post and maybe you’ll be able to comprehend if you’re able to read. They recruit talented athletes that can barely pass the entrance exam and they require individual tutoring to bring up their GPA scores in order to keep up with their studies or be able to play with a passing grade. Your Education First screen name is bogus and I don’t have to go as far as making a mockery of you. It shows and thats all that matters….no need name calling….only uneducated people will do such a thing.

@Education First: This article is about football and if you want to talk about education, high GPA and academic reputation, do it when the article pertains to the standards of education. Com-on man, before you yap about the OIA schools, know the truth about how the ILH recruits and provide tutoring to the athletes so that they could bring their grades up and maintain the minimum GPA requirement. Keep your high maka maka education out of the subject of football. We don;t need it when discussing the issues that pertain to football.
————-

And this is the reason why the kids cannot read, write, or count. Academics always trumps sports. And what does recruiting have to do with quality of education?

So you are telling me the reason why the kids are smarter at Iolani and Punahou is due to the recruitment of football players.

Man, no wonder you have to use the screen name North Shore. You are an idiot.

You guys hilarious!

While I admit the game was winnable – that was only if Sol-Jay was playing – without him, Bingham had 9 in da box all night. Hard for run…I don’t care who you are…that’ll make any D look great. This offense is custom-built to take advantage of Sol-Jay’s skills – just like St Lulu and Tua the last couple of years.

Their vaunted offense boiled down to trick plays on 4th down. Their QB had 109 total yards. They got scared and started burning clock with QB sneaks every other down. Makes Utah football look LESS than average – especially after they BUTCHERED what was supposed to a great East HS squad.

Congrats on the win Bingham – you can only play the team on the field, and you won fair and square. You also outcoached KHS coaches – especially with those trick plays.

RRFLs – stop feeling sorry for ourselves – I’m not. Every program has its ups-n-downs. St Lulu has lost at least one game every year for like…EVER. (All you Prep Bowl days fans keep reminiscing – dem days is over). Shoot – look at Bishop Gorman – almost outta da Top 25 this year with their two losses.

After all is said and done – the team will grow and learn from this experience and will only benefit them down the stretch. Plus, they got great exposure on a national platform they wouldn’t have had any other way.

That said – I see a lot of Trojans bandwagon fans in here. I’ll take on all RRFL haters who believe that Kahuku will not win OIA this year. C’mon now – put your $$ where your mouth is….yeah – didn’t think so.

Looking forward to the rest of the season, OIA and States – because that’s where we will be – in both Championship games. Garanz.

RRFL.
