Secondly, this thread is embarrassing to our Nanakuli community. We are fighting each other! Why?! If we are all proud to be from our community, then we should show it. If I am an outsider reading this, it just shows that Nanakuli has already lost because they fighting each other. Please stop this from continuing. There is no need for name calling or putdowns, at all!

Next, coaching a high school team is very difficult, let along doing 2 programs (JV and Varsity). Please take into consideration the many things a coach must accomplish with their team before game night:

football attendance, school attendance, grades, communicating with teachers about grades and academic performances, organizing and conducting study hall, organizing and conducting weight training, attitude and discipline, character building, conditioning, offense scheme, defense scheme, special team scheme, organizing community service, organizing team bonding events, camps, combines, SAT, ACT, college application, communicating with collegiate coaches, organizing off season workouts, team camps, off field relationships with players, safety of players,…

These are just some of the things EVERY high school coach must accomplish before even stepping on the field/court on game night. Now keep in mind, the NHIS is running parallel staff, meaning the same 15 coaches working with Varsity is also working with JV, so they are doubling their duties. It is rare to find a parallel staff at any high school level. Then, also keep in mind, the same 15 coaches are trying to accomplish the goals while being under-resourced, in comparison to other schools and programs. THEN, remember the same 15 coaches have their own career and family to support, too. So yes, building a relationship with the pop warner is load-baring for any high school team. Is it impossible? Of course not. But it would be very difficult. All that is really needed is support!

So in all, please stop the nonsense on this thread as it is leading to no where. There is no need for name calling or putdowns. Just support Nanakuli!

Finally, I’ll leave this thread with a story:

A Man and his son went to market with their Donkey. As they were walking a countryman passed and said: “You fools, what is a Donkey good for but riding?”

So the Man put the Boy on the Donkey. Soon they passed a group of men and one said: “See that lazy Boy, he lets his father walk while he rides.”

So the Man ordered his Boy to get off, and got on himself. Then they passed two women, one of whom said to the other: “Shame on that lazy lout to let his poor little son march along.”

The Man didn’t know what to do, so he placed his Boy up before him on the Donkey. By this time they had come to the town, and passers-by jeered and pointed at them. The Man stopped and asked what they were scoffing at. The men said: “Aren’t you ashamed of yourself for overloading that poor donkey with you and your large son?”

The Man and Boy got down and didn’t know what to do. They thought and thought, until they cut down a pole, tied the donkey’s feet to it, and raised the pole with the donkey to their shoulders. They went on in the middle of the laughter of everyone who met them until they came to Market Bridge, when the Donkey, wiggling and moving around, caused the Boy to drop his end of the pole. In the struggle the Donkey fell over the bridge into the water and drowned.

“That will teach you,” said an old man who had followed them: “Please all, and you will please none!”
