Many kids coming to Mililani because they can get the looks from the next level. The referees in Hawaii are always bad.

School is at.0755hrs. That means he has to catch the bus at 5 am. So he gets up at 0415? Okay, let’s try bus back. Practice finish at 6 pm. Dinner? Homework? Gets home 830 pm. For a sub rb? Kaimuki has a good team.

I went to both of those games and arguably that STL team was one of their weaker teams. MJD was awesome and Liufau (Andre’) was a stud DT for STL. Kahuku was also down that year too.

Didn’t SL already play Bosco a few years ago? (Remember the Rosen One?) Granted, this edition of the Crusaders is, arguably, a stronger version of that team but then again, a similar argument can be made for Bosco, right?

Comparing this year’s SL team to Gorman? Well, that was settled earlier in THIS season as well…quite decisively.

Comparing this year’s SL team to DLS from 2000? MJD has already retired from the NFL so that is kinda pointless and Marcedes Lewis is on the backside of his NFL career, too.

As far as the “recruiting” that was “started” at Kalaepohaku…hah??? The ILH-OIA split happened in 1970 long before Cal even graduated HS (BTW from an OIA school) And besides, don’t we all love to live vicariously on Saturdays and Sundays as the keiki o ka aina successfully “rep da 808” in the NCAA and the NFL? How is that gonna happen if (and I am not disparaging these schools, BTW) Kalaheo and Damien meet for the State championship one year? Then McKinley and Iolani fight it out the next? (which did happen nearly 30 years ago)

Second,Alcover and Hoohuli should’ve been ejected. Third it wouldn’t matter if Victor brought the teams together because both programs have Pilau Head Coaches. Fourth, ???, Notes (and all your other names) I read your posts that make some very valid points about STL dominance (btw they don’t have to recruit at this point kids just want to go there at this point and play for the best program in the state) and the ILH , yet you’re so oblivious to the recruiting that Mililani and Campbell have been doing for years that is destroying the balance of the OIA. Kahuku’s 2nd best RB Liloa Kaluna catches the bus to and from Palolo every day. Now if a kid or his family is that committed to playing for another school, then that’s their choice. York has a huge van that picks up kids in Kalihi every day, Campbell’s Aina Chavez is from Kalihi, their QB from Kailua, and on and on. If you want the kids to stay in their respective communities then give them a good reason to stay home like having solid academic programs, safe school environments and competitive athletic programs. I’m not saying its easy but its better than spending 2-3 hours commuting on our crowded highways every day.

QB Agabayani is the problem for Mililani offense he can’t play any other QB that Coach York can put against St. Louis for the next game….Mililani QB Agbayani should play OL or choose any other position…Coach York you should recruit QB for next year

2nd if the ILH is an evil empire then La’ie/Wai’anae/Kapolei/Ewa/etc. should just stop sending their kids there. Kahuku once kept their kids home. They won many titles using community pride. All those years have been swept away by the current admin and their foolish politics.

3rd SBJ could have ran on Mililani, but why run and risk injuring your QB when you can toss darts through the secondary. SBJ had so much speed that Mililani literally double covered a SBJ wideout like dbs cover flankers on punt return coverage. They knew the Mililani weakness and exposed it 50 different ways. The offense was creative.

Lastly. I think STL could compete with SBJ. Win….probably not, but they could make it respectable. Maybe a 7 to 14 point spread. STL has speed on offense and could put up points. I just don’t think they’d stop SBJ’s offense. That 42 on Mililani was effortless.

I said that Mililani’s front 7 played lights out and they did. Their db’s struggled and St. Louis will exploit that weakness. I give credit where credit is warranted, Bosco couldn’t run the ball but Mililani with the pass. And I think the Crusaders passing is just as good if not better than Bosco’s
