I dont like york, but much props for building his program to this point. And props to Mililani admin for allowing York to do what he does…hopefully he’s not stepping on other peoples toes to do it, but when it comes to big time football programs, that tends to happen.

And to my fellow RRFL, enough with the recruiting!! We’ve been Really successful regardless of how many kids transfer. For that, we should be grateful to the kids who stay. No other Hawaii public school has been able to maintain our level of success while losing kids. Think of how Waianae or Farrington would be awesome if they were able to keep all their kids.

3 phases of the game. 2 of the phases where BiG Red is seriously in trouble this year are coached by Carvalho’s. Kahuku has traditionally been Awesomen in special teams, except this year and last year. But besides that, the kids on the oline have no heart. Mililani has great players on D, but for Big Red oline to suck that bad??? No heart, no communication and obviously, no discipline. 3 awesome oline coaches, but these kids feel entitled. To put it bluntly, not enough “balls” on the line. You guys still in high school, but football is and has always been a sport for people with spines and grit. You think it gets easier after graduating? This is a part of real life. MAN UP, learn and grow and get better, or blow everything off and continue to get your butts kicked.

this was really all part of the ILH and cal lee’s master plan tbh. when you keep recruiting and recruiting, it’s only a matter of time until a community reaches a breaking point. it happened to the once proud mckinley football program, and now it’s happening to us. kahuku always ALWAYS ALWAYS plays the right way with integrity, home grown rooted not recruited players, with kids that are proud to play with pride for their communities and parents who are RRFL who dont’ chase private school scholarship money.

it hurts me to say this but seems like kahuku is gonna have to join in on the recruiting game too because of what the ILH did to hawaii high school football. i dont’ hate on rod york for doing what he needs to do to win. maybe we gotta do that too

Stop calling out kids and mentioning their names in a negative tone. Leave the players alone. Blame coaches all day, everyday, that’s part of the territory. Grow up. Give cracks, take cracks, recover, and MOVE FORWARD.

mililani is a poor mans st louis. all these transfer traders in sam, amina, semeatu, deblake, kim, hoohuli. what happen to playin for your hometown, no loyalty. should be called mililani crusaders/hurricanes

For Kahuku, it looks like there is a disconnect between the HS and the youth programs. What drives Mililani is York’s involvement from the PeeWee programs all the way up the pipeline until they hit varsity. Same systems, same styles, similar plays. It took some time, but Mililani has arrived.
As for the recruiting, what ever these parents/kids wanna do to improve the futures’ of their own families, let it be. If you improve your own programs your kids will stay.
