What the football program needs to do is consistently send guys to the next level, and I think Walter can do that. It seems as if the kids are taking school way more seriously now the before. Once they do that, and start helping kids realize that ball can help them get an education at the next level.

@manley the media and digital program is the best in the state and probably the best in the nation. They’ve won many national awards, and has sent 95% of their kids to college. I hear many kids transfer to Waianae for that program. There are several football players in that program who will do great things after the mire days on the gridiron.

Waianae needs an offense coordinator and a recruiting coordinator. Hahaha. Gotta establish that pipeline from Utah, Washington, Cali and Nevada since Waianae roots run deep in those states. 🙂

@deeperlook- I’m glad you noticed that. #61 refuses to shake hands after the toss and instead goes back to his side and starts yelling and hypeing himself up. Than he gets folded all night long by our Junior nose gaurd. That was classic.

You simply cannot compete with top tier teams if you’re constantly racking up personal foul penalties and shooting yourself in the foot. They’ve gone all season with more then enough time to clean up their act but week by week you see 150 plus yards in penalties.But you can’t blame the kids after a certain point. A lack of dicipline from the coaches will surely allow certain idividuals (same players all season) to act out like we saw in lastnights game with the player being ejected.The coaches reaction wasnt any help either.There was absolutely no respect for authority. When you pick a team captain to represent your team they should be a standout example and it always starts with character. Waianaes team captain refusing to shake hands with Kahuku captains at the coin toss should not reflect the attitude/character of this entire team but you usually pick your teams best. They could very much rise and be great, but certain attitudes anchor the team .

It wouldn’t have mattered, even if we had Bill Bellichick on the sidelines. Football starts in the trenches, and our O-line was getting rag-dolled all night. No offensive game plan could’ve worked for Waianae with Kahuku’s D-line busting through on every play. It was like watching UH vs Georgia in the sugar bowl. Still proud of our boys though. Like oia#1 said, Rooted not recruited!
