People need to see the big picture. Come on- the bottom line we are all 808. My cousins on the mainland talk a lot of about Hawaii Football. They don’t even mention the OIA or the ILH. It is Hawaii football. That is it.

By their own criteria, how many teams in top 25, top 100 and top 1000, the Open division here in Hawaii would be top 5 AT LEAST with Saint Louis 7, Mililani 27, Punahou 39 and Kahuku 72. They weren’t mentioned, I assume, because Max Preps looked at the ILH and OIA separately. We should be very proud of all the teams in the open division. it’s as good as it gets anywhere in the country. Hats off to Farrington too, they were much more competitive against Saint Louis this year than last. Same can be said of Campbell. Waianae looks to be much improved too. That’s the effect of competition, everybody gets better. That’s a good thing, not a bad thing. That money situation for the OIA is nice too. Boy did the ILH get fleeced on that, but that’s for another post. Looking forward to Punahou Kahuku tonight. Seems like every week we have a power house matchup. Gotta love it if you’re a Hawaii high school football fan. Thanks for the Open Division!!!

That comment about DJT is about as misinformed as your comment about DeLaura waiting on Navy lol. EVERYBODY knows it’s the dems that pander and promise free s@*t to certain groups to buy their votes. Hard work and dedication pays off in life and in sports. Sounds like you were always the last one picked on the playground. Successful people take that slight and work harder to get better. Others just accept mediocrity and say life isn’t fair. I tell my kids all the time, “life isn’t fair, get over it and be better.” Our country is becoming the “land of the free, home of the victim” cuz of people like you.

Ah, where? Please provide a break down. You sound like DJT. “Vote for me,and it will come”.

I don’t even care if Private schools recruits. But if the statement about playing better teams make you better we’re true, than Kalaheo, Castle, and Kaiser all would have been super teams from when they was in the east playing playing Kahuku and Kailua in the early 2000s.

Money that I’m sure these programs want/need. Football is a small part of these young mens high school lives. This money allows them to travel to the mainland to play other teams, have better project grad activities, buy better equipment, the list goes on and on. I’m not so sure of the tackle dummies comment either. Nor do I agree with getting rid of the open. And just so you know you don’t get better by playing weaker teams, it’s the other way around. And as far as this helping the ILH teams recruit???? You think these kids and families don’t already know about these schools?

Get rid of the OPEN. It was made for the b3nefit of ILH and StL. What did it do to the 2 poorest Open team Farrington and Waianae? Right. Nothing. What did it do to the rich teams (ILH)? Provided them with live tackle dummies to craft their skills. (Plus heavy recruits from this area to deplete their pride). OIA needs to step away. Remember years ago a secret letter with 3 million offer to merge? Where is the 3 mil.?
