I have no problem with kids transferring to another school. It happens all the time. Why is a coach recruit kids from out his district just win football games? It high school football! I love the fact it bring more powerhouse to the OIA. It’s not just me that have with it, the DOE have a problem that too.

Coming from big red country I do to believe that mililani has the best coaching staff even with talk of recruiting. York staff gets there kids ready to play as if it’s there last game. It’s amazing to watch that offense go to work

People gonna always make excuses for losing, it’s just a fact of life, but the truth of the matter is that York and his staff has done a tremendous job out there in millilani, nothing more needs to be said about that, they proved themselves over the past years! And if any coach likes losing then they shouldn’t be out there coaching! What would be the point! And as far as recruiting in the OIA??? What nonsense!! What! They going offer da kids free lunch!! Give me a break! People always gonna hate when you get to the top! Get used to it! Comes with the territory lol! Anyways put this thread to rest! Ain’t getting nowhere! Good luck to the Trojans this season! Just glad the state trophy back in da OIA! Where it belongs!!!! Aloha

Don’t you guys pay attention at the beginning of any of the games? How many of these schools, Mililani, Kahuku, Campbell, etc. have kids that transferred from other schools, be it OIA or yes, even ILH, Kamehameha and Punahou. They are transferring from even the ILH schools to go to OIA, so stop saying only ILH recruits, we are not dumb. What does Mililani or Kahuku offer that allows at DE?

Football look whether you like it or not. the truth is kapolei and farrington have had way more transfers to their team this year more than mililani and on top of that if you do your research the kids that are starting this year were and have been on the team since last year and the year before with the exception of 1 kid that starts at slots from st. louis. so to answer your question on what york does that draws the kids to a public school the answer is he and the coaches make the ENVIORMENT FUN AND COACHABLE…kids see it for themselves and want to be apart of it there are no promises or deals being made the kids want to come BOTTOM LINE…not recruiting go look up the info for yourself and see.

@oahupuns Whether there Samoan,Tongan,or any other race doesn’t matter they still play for the brown and gold and this community is proud of them.And if you are not bragging about the trojans you know you don’t represent this community.And I would say if all it took was size and talent puns should have taken states last year but they didn’t .

@football any coach hate to lose.People coming to mililani because it’s a good community, good schools,good education,and great football.If they come because they have relatives here that’s good they are family.Who are you or anybody else to say where kids can or cannot play.Thats up to the parents. And yes there’s plenty good players right here in central oahu.
And you telling me other schools have transfers but it’s because they have no choice NOT TRUE.We will have to agree to disagree on this subject.

Coaches on the High School level only win because of the talent, case in point, Suiaki and Reggie won titles for Kahuku because they had the most and the best talent. Punahou won titles because they recruited the best talent. Darnell Arceneaux coached at Mililani and did not win anything with the Mililani kids because Mililani kids are not big, (this is a soccer community) but the one year Arceneaux moves to coach St. Louis he wins a state title because the talent was at St. Louis. You mean to tell me York is winning at Mililani because he is a better offensive mind then Arceneaux? I think not, York is a better salesman to get his friends to bring their nephews to Mililani. I live in Mililani and no one is bragging about homegrown talent because we know these kids are not from here, the community is proud of the school over all but yes we know these Samoan and Tongan kids are not from Mililani.
