I’d like to see a single 16 team format with no tiers…3 ILH, 7 OIA, 3 MIL, 2 BIIF, 1 KIF. Best of the Best pay per view event. Games called if a team is leading by 70 points or more to prevent injuries.

Edu – Here is an article talking about a couple of 19 year olds playing in basketball back then. The general premise is that the ILH at the time before HHSAA allowed 5 years to play 4. Leaving it possible for the man child. Rather than asking who specifically I think the fact that they had to make a rule against it speaks for itself.

Prep bowl radar! LOL, dont you remember Cal Lee recruiting and playing 19yr olds? thats why they won 14 straight. Come time for the HHSAA state tourney and they told Cal Lee he cant play his 19yr old boys and now all of a sudden they become Kahukus Doormat! LOL

@anywaaays, can you let us know no many 19 years olds Cal Lee had? I recall one of the SA Sports Writers write on here last year (I think it was Mr. Campany, I could be incorrect), saying that the amount of 19 years was minimal at best and many years they didn’t even have any.

Please let us know which players exactly were 19 for verification. If you can’t name any, why should anyone believe you?

As for older kids playing, what about kids from Kahuku who might possibly have incorrect birth certificates? If I had to make an inference (without data), I would make an educated guess that numerous ones who moved from American Samoa or other Polynesian Islands might be 25 or older.

Regardless of age though, can they pass a math test or clear the NCAA clearinghouse?

One thing is for sure this preseason. STL will dominate Waianae similar to the 42-7 thrashing they delivered in last years state semifinals. Kahuku will also dominate the OIA. Only Kahuku/PUN/STL are on an elite level. Bring back the prep-bowl. OIA1 vs ILH1

The addition of OIA 2 & 3 into the State tourney is redundant and unnecessary but its the correct thing to do in terms of formality because the ratio of 22 OIA schools to the ILHs 3 only makes sense.

ILH season doesn’t start till September so what you talking about? Ya what they had 2 preseason games before that. Again it’s preseason. Maybe if kahuku had there stuff together maybe they would’ve played in the championship . Nobody to blame but themselves. It is what it is so deal with it!

What would happen If the OIA just said, ‘Hey were going to return to pre 1973 days. No matchups between ILH n OIA at season end.’ I wonder if that would stop the onslaught of recruiting that is prevelant now. Not saying that it would stop recruiting, but not en masse as it is now. No state tltle to play for, the big three in the ILH playing each other 3x’s. Now what? ILH champs and that’s it.

Preseason? Is that the excuse now. The game was played in the last week of August which means the season started already. Each team had already played 2 games prior and the starters played almost the entire game. Kids weren’t getting rotated in until late in the 4th buddy.
