I thought the game last week against Kaimuki was just a little fishy, but after last nights game against Kahuku it makes me think that there is something other than fair play going on.
I thought the refs blew the call when the Kaimuki player recovered very first kick off on the twelve yard line. Clearly the player recovered the ball in bounds and rolled out but not only did they give the ball to Mililani but they also tacked on an illegal procedure call on top of that giving Mililani the ball on their own 35 yard line. There were other questionable calls later in the game against Kaimuki that not only made me shake my head but even Larry Price was confused. But last night really made me think the fix was in.
I always thought that if a player gets hurt on a play that he had to sit out the very next play not have the coach and the refs play let's make a deal (we give up a down and you let our player stay in the game). Wow, that really caught me off guard. Thank God that the call didn't cost Kahuku the game. I wouldn't complain if the refs not only had Mililani give a down but also have a ten second run off of the game clock and continue play without the clock stopping from that point unless Mililani had called a time out. I'm sure that the Kahuku fans were a big deterrent from having their team getting hosed like Kaimuki.
Come on refs play fair or get off the field.
