I got $5000 on Kahuku and Mililani not losing by 50 to ST Lulu?
STL needs to schedule their games like Bishop Gorman and play 3-4 Top 15 teams from around the nation every year.

Everybody gotta eat but why is it that when a public school starts to get a bigger piece of the pie (ala kahuku and Mililani winning titles) things gotta change? Like trying to get 2 ILH teams into the playoffs and now the leagues gotta merge?

The ILH (more specifically STL and their Alums) decided that if Kahuku is going to win any more titles then they need to play all the ILH big 3 during the season, instead of just once in a title game….as if Kahuku has the same resources, facilities, money and recruiting abilities to be on the same level as the ILH big 3.

In 2015 When they lost to Kahuku- Cal went on camera and made the statement…”it would be nice to play Kahuku in the regular season so we can get used to their smash mouth style”. He didnt say the OIA, just Kahuku. Sure enough a few months later the ILH proposes to the OIA to combine leagues and offers 3 Million$$$, OIA says no!

In 2016 after they beat Kahuku in the title game Ron Lee says “the competition in the OIA is weaker and we knew it would come back to bite them…we dont have a soft schedule we play Punahou and Kam so we were prepared for them”.

If the OIA is a soft conference then why does STL want to merge? Because they want to make Kahukus path to the title game harder and this also opens the opportunity in the future to get all of their big3 into the post season. They trying to shut the OIA out which violates Lavar Balls policy of STAY IN YO LANE!

The ILH pretty much shut the OIA out in all other sports AND that is how the rich families operate, they need to win at everything.

ps. If Iron sharpens Iron then why aint the other ILH sports merging with the OIA to help the OIA teams rise up to better levels? oh wait! the ILH dominate all the other sports already so the OIA can be forgotten about.

It wasnt till 1998 when the HHSAA tried to stop Cal Lee and his 19yr old players from playing in the prep bowl.
http://archives.starbulletin.com/98/09/22/sports/story3.html

Guess how long it took for Kahuku to beat STL in the state championship game after they banned ST. Louis 19yr olds? The very next year 2000-01 Kahuku State champs!

Now 2015 Cal Lee returns to STL and brings all his transfers from neighborislands.

Retaining a student is a parental choice. I’m stating the facts. You’re wrong on being 19. Do some research. You’ll find out for yourself. Nothing wrong with admitting you’re wrong.

Good job! Now that looks like the whole story. From your original posting it sounded to me like St. Louis was the only school holding kids back. Wait. Holding kids back. Isn’t that just like red shirting? Nothing wrong with red shirting, right? If what you say about Mr. Lee and Mr. York’s training camps is true, then kudos to them for being so innovative.

Rule across the ILH is as long as you don’t turn 19 before September 1st, you are eligible. Again, research and homework, very important before pretending to know the actual facts

HHSAA rules states as long as a senior hasn’t turned 19 before the first day of high school, he or she is eligible to participate in all state sports. This means a player can turn 19 in late September of thier senior year and still be eligible to play any sport his or her senior year. This includes ILH regular seasons in the fall, winter and spring. Nice try though.
