Considering these ILH and OIA teams are fresh out of their conference playoffs just to see them play the same teams they already beat a few weeks prior in the state tourney dont make sense.

@88. The OIA used to only play 8 league games, then it was the playoffs while the ILH played 2 rounds totaling 10 games in the Prep Bowl era, where only the winners of each league played for the championship. Cal Lee mentioned at the beginning of the season that he would have scheduled more out of league games during the season if the league would have allowed it. The top ranked teams in the nation are scheduling in season out of league games, the ILH should start allowing their teams to do the same, rather than waiting 2 to 3 weeks to play another game.

88- it really don’t matter because only the oia benefits from this state tournament. It should be oia champ vs ILH champ. The loser of that oia championship game shouldn’t have a second chance to win. That’s how dumb this tournament is.

Yeah but if you do that The ILH D1 teams would only have like 6 games. How do you get better as a player and team playing only 6-7 games the entire season?

In an alternate reality, the loser of the OIA championship this weekend should be done for the season, the 3rd place game should be for 3rd place, nothing more. Then it should be just the ILH champ vs the OIA champ. Kahuku, Mililani, Waianae, Campbell, and the next 2 OIA teams in win/loss records should immediately be declared for the Div I – Open bracket next year. Give those teams an incentive to beat each other, only one winner goes to the championship against the ILH Div I-Open champion.

Garuntee miss print. No one wants to see another OIA championship game. Just like how no one wanted to see another ILH title game last year so they placed Punahou and St. Louis in opposite brackets.
