It is sad to have our leaders always backpedaling to cover their butts and not have contingency plans in place already. We have been shut down for over a year and none of these forms have been anticipated to have ready for school/sports to occur? There were so many states that we could have called upon to see how things were handled to create our own plan(s) for schools to return to normal (as normal as possible) wearing masks and following COVID-19 protocols. Moneys that should have been spent on tests for schools were put into STEM programs and creation of committees to sit around and eat away the precious dollars that could have and should have been used to help our children get back to school in as safe a setting as possible. I love living in our islands but the decision makers on many levels including DOE make it a frustrating way to live. They really need to look at issuing moneys to school complexes (since we are all stuck under one district on Oahu) so those faculty and staff can use the monies where its needed at those schools and not get lost in fluffy committees making decisions that help few and leave a majority of students bodies vulnerable. We need more transparency on all levels.
