And occasionally the higher rankings often get a first round bye. Year in and year out, the outer island teams, get ranked high. Why? To try and be equal? It should go to the deserving team. Again this year, Hilo ranked #1. Going home. Baldwin Ranked #4. Going Home. Watch for it again in basketball. It happens all the time.

In the Division 1 tournament, one ILH team will be represented. Before the start of the season, the four D1 ILH teams (Saint Louis, Punahou, Kamehameha, Iolani) declared which tournament they will play in. Saint Louis, Punahou, and Kamehameha declared the Open Division. With only 2 spots available this means one team will not play in the tournament (in this case it’s Kamehameha). Iolani, the only D1 ILH team who declared Division 1, gets the automatic bid to the D1 tournament despite their 0-6 ILH record.

They should’ve gave Kapolei and Waianae a bye if they knew they were gonna put them.

Why was that game scheduled? If it was used to determine the brackets, what was Kapolei thinking? Wouldn’t you want to play Farrington instead of Punahou in the first round?

Why is Iolani representing the ILH instead of Kamehameha who has better ILH record?

If Hilo wins they play winner of Iolani/Moanalua
IF Leleihua wins they play winner of Campbell/Waiakea.
Mr. Chun-this will save your ass. Remember this in Open division playoffs.
Theres a number of ways statistically you can settle my “if” points.
Like, points scored, division record this year etc…
