Hey, Ricardo, if the email attached to your name is correct, I emailed five clips about your dad’s agonizing decision.

The way it played out in the press was 20 kids drinking beer at a party and he kicked all of them off the team. Pancho Easterwood glorified him for it, but Dan McGuire blasted him.

my name is ricardo aguirre. my father, dick aguirre, was the punahou football coach in 1967. that season was curtailed with player suspension for training rule violations. I am interested in finding out more about what others remember during that year and the impact it may have had on players. i do know it was a difficult decison for my father to make. he passed away 9 years ago and spoke little about that season. any information would be greatly appreciated.

Please print 1967 high school complete basketball all-stars including third team and honorable mention. I played on Castle varsity basketball and would like to keep the article because could not find it anywhere. Thank you.
