So many people are saying educational institutions have different rules. I have no idea. It shouldn’t be different. To me, make one rule so it’s not confusing.

Numbers are getting better. Just got to be a little more patient.

I was driving past, so didn’t get a good look, but it was definitely two teams. They weren’t wearing team jerseys, so I don’t know who. Just like Aiea Park, Lanakila is wide open.

I’m also hearing through the baseball community that Sand Island is a secret field for full practices and scrimmages because that field is way in the back of the park.

As mentioned in other articles, football teams and soccer teams also been doing full practices for the past few months. Basically, the coaches are running roughshod at the parks since the new mayor took over. This new mayor already getting overwhelmed.

Some parks are packed with sporting teams not practicing Covid safety (Kapi’olani). No one says a word, but go by other parks and you can hear a pin drop as people/teams aren’t using the facility as they were told to leave. This has become one giant joke.

The ILH is making the OIA look silly but at least trying to make things work. Great for them.

My question would be does playing on private property fall under different rules? I would think not but St. Louis has played at least 7 games in their campus gym. Every game has been reported on and a few streamed live on FB. How different is that from a league being played at Calvary? What suprised me is that Aiea District park is a city and county field. Im sure some city official or 2 has driven by that field at some point and witnessed games being played, like this past Saturday morning.

That does not surprise me. Marco Johnson of Roundball is planning to run an “illegal” basketball league at the Calvary Chapel in Aiea. Tier 2 rules clearly stipulate that no more than 5 people can be on a basketball court. He is planning to have 10. That is irresponsible and unsafe. What is worse, is last time he tried to run his league, the participants weren’t even wearing masks. It’s sad how some people think they are above the rules. My niece is participating in this league. She was told by her club coach, if she didn’t participate, she might be able to travel in the summer. So sad. I hope she doesn’t accidentally transmit COVID accidentally to any elders. If was my kid, I would tell that coach to…….(edited, but you know what).

I would not feel sorry if the league directors get cited and fined.

People are getting vaccinated and numbers seem to be going down. Can’t these people be patient and wait until the rules change?

In this case, I guess not. I find it appalling.

With a bunch of spectators. The field is along a busy road. I’m sure alot of people saw. There’s usually full practices going on during the weekdays also. It’s crazy how some city parks are being utilized as if there’s no restrictions while others are shut down.
