Borrowed money to send them to UH and play sports. As for studying, I highly doubt it they need Rolle’s theorem or Boolean algebra or First law of thermodynamics. Simple stuffs is enough. Grammer. Read, write. That stuff.

NLI is a binding agreement between student-athlete and school to play that sport. A walk-on might not even make the team. If you are going to a school because of academic scholie or financial aid, that is not a NLI.

Wise up.

Honestly: you can’t say for a fact that kids in other states don’t participate in signing day events when they are simply signing grant-in-aid agreements instead of national letters of intent. D3 schools don’t give athletic scholarships, but you know what? Ivy League schools competing at the D1 level also don’t give athletic scholarships. Now what? Kids signing with Harvard, Yale, or Princeton are losers too for for signing their grant-in-aid? Signing day is a big event to for these kids and their families. They aren’t hurting anyone. Let them have their moment. Think about how many walk on kids eventually went on to prove they were scholarship worthy, and some even become the best players on their teams, or even pros! So, chill. Have a coke and a smile you sad, sad person.

It doesn’t necessarily mean you have an athletic scholarship. It does however imply you’re “on the team”.
We all have our opinions but at least the kids are trying to play at a higher level and get a college education.
Congrats and Best of Luck!

Is this high school all over again? You guys crack me up so much. You guys should really open your eyes up to the rest of the country. Nobody else having signing days for walk ons. So pathetic. It has nothing to do with school. I have a problem with the “misleading” part. You are signing a letter of intent because a school offered you a athletic scholarship. So, what are these kids signing especially in D3 cause there ain’t no athletic scholarship? There is no athletic scholarships for D3 which in my eyes athletically is a joke anyways. Academically very good though.
