MIL great point. That little school in Manoa known as Saint Francis has a combined high school enrollment (boys and girls of around 200 students 9-12). Saint Francis probably shocked themselves with that shut out victory over MPI at MPI and followed that performance pushing #5 Punahou to 10 innings, finally dropping that game 3-2 earlier today. Im a sucker for underdog success stories and was surprised like you that hardly any mention of the huge MPI upset by Saint Francis occurred and really threw a monkey wrench into the ILH D1 race. The story was for the most part kept a secret…Good Job Saint Francis!

By the way, what happen to the huge article on St. Francis shutout victory over the Owls? Div2, bust the top rank team… No respect! They covered up the victory that St. Francis deserved, with another article that was touching and spirited. That’s ok, Saints, U were way better then they were on that day…congrats!

In regards to playing one sport( U, talking about Mid Pacific huh) Coach Muramaru, does not allow his player’s to play other sports. Wants a total commitment to his ️️baseball program. He forgot, that he was a 3 sport letterman at Kalani High, a good athlete too. They have some athlete there, but most of them have to put in the year around repetition to become good player’s…it works in his robotic system so guess U can’t knock it. He should remember, it takes away from the athlete that can help the entire program and not only his. Think about it!

Encourage your child to play multiple sports because if you don’t go to college you might miss great opportunities to grow while in high school.

If you focus on one sport and play it year round you should be good and increase your chances of playing at the next level.

Just a thought.

When you play baseball year round and “encouraged” not to play another sport, you should be good right?? I mean, if you play all summer, fall, and winter than come spring and you should be just steamrolling along.

I guess its just different schools of thought. If you dont go on to college to play baseball, then you missed a lot of great opportunities to grow while in HS by playing other sports. But, by focusing on one sport you increased your chances of playing at the next level.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
