LIVE BLOG: OIA wrestling championships

The OIA wrestling championships are underway with a 2 p.m. start because Saturday was a test day.

Results will be updated below. Action began with the girls.

UPDATE: Finals have begun at 8:20 p.m.


Boys and girls finals will run at the same time. We will start with Boys 126 and girls 97.

    If you got a daughter have her wrestle. Wrestling is the new sport of high schools and colleges. Right now WIDE OPEN not like the boys side where it’s the oldest sport and very very competitive, The girls side is the opposite and VERY shallow in talent and depth. Here in Hawaii we have girls who are not even state champs do very well nationally!

    What are you talking about the girls have just as much talent & high level wrestlers as the boys plus they put in just as much work!!!

    Yes I have a son and two daughters that wrestle. Yes it’s much different for the girls but they work just as hard but the opportunities to do well are much easier than my son has.
