I know, he coaches ULS a D2 team. But if you followed their story and see what they had to go through. Coach Miller and his staff did wonders for this team.
They didn’t have a gym, they practiced wherever was available, they were never the Home team, and they have players who he brought out the best in them. Kept the girls close and never wavered in times of adversity. They were down 2 games AND losing 15 – 22 in the 3rd game of the State’s semifinal. He kept the girls calm and he never let them give up. They did the reverse sweep and win. Not only did ULS win the state title, in D2, but it’s first title in 31 YEARS!! Oh yeah, they also took the ILH Title when they started the season with 3 losses.
Don’t me wrong, Blake is a great
coach, but he got the P.O.Y and is surrounded with players who could start for any team in the state. Yeah,
it’s D1 and the competition level is considered higher. But we’re talking about coaching and what the coach did for the girls and the team. Congrats to Coach Blake and Kamehameha!
But give D2 some credit. Especially under the circumstances that Coach Miller and ULS Girls had to go through this past season.
