LOL, soccer politics at its finest … and the perfect school for it too. FWIW, there are cases like this every year at a lot of different schools with two sides to every story. The truth is usually somewhere in between. I’m sure the coach has his/her reasons for picking the names. Best way for disgruntled parents to deal with it is go direct to the coach and deal with it in private.

Auwe! Thats too bad, Jordan is a great player, person and teammate.

I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. She has a bright future ahead of her and a great family to support and get her there.

Who is the HC at Punahou now?

Thank you @ILH for the information! Found out that this student athlete’s name for Punahou wasn’t even submitted to the league. #5 Jordan Lau wasn’t 1 of the 11 names submitted by Punahou’s HC. The process is that each HC submit 11 names for recognition to either first team, second team or honorable mention. It seems like in this situation the Punahou HC has a personal issue towards this young lady. Because it cannot be because of her play! This young lady’s play all year was outstanding. Hopefully the media will ask around about this young lady and she will get the recognition she deserves in the All State or All Hawaii selections! Mahalo

If its similar to how the other ILH sports do it, the Head Coaches get together at the ILH office, nominate players from their team, have discussion and then vote on it.

So, if its the same, I would talk to the HC.

Hopefully when its time to select the All State team #5 Jordan Lau for Punahou will be recognize for an outstanding Sophomore year. Not sure who makes the ILH selections, obviously they didn’t watch Punahou games. If they did, they would see #5 all over the field. She’s big around 5″10, physical and can run! Started very game and never came off the field. Matched up against some of the best strikers this year from Moanalua, Campbell, Pearl City, Kamehameha and Iolani. Not making any post season ILH honors is baffling, almost funny. Hopefully, this young lady will be rewarded for her hard work and excellent play this season! This is a performance base award???

I think someone forgot to nominate an outstanding player on the Punahou defense! #5 Jordan Lau had an outstanding season and deserved to be recognized for her stellar play. Not even an Honorable Mention is a slap in the face to this young woman.
