the Star-Advertiser reported that Jaclyn Fontanilla won her fourth judo title. what a great accomplishment, and kudos for the Star-Advertier getting it into the paper the next day. I did not see any TV or radio or other newspaper reports on it. Great judo coverage.

Mika, believe me we are as disappointed as you are when an event runs past our deadline for the paper. We did all we could to get as much as we could.

Don’t know why the hell I subscribe to the Star Advertiser. This is what was written about the Boys Varsity Judo: “Iolani took the boys by 69 points on individual champions from five judoka, including reigning champion Dane Yamashiro.” That’s it folks!!!!! What school took 2nd, what school took 3rd? I could have told you before the tournament started that Dane Yamashiro would take it, who by the way was in the finals before the tournament even began. Who are the champions for all the weight classes for both the boys and the girls. Who are the top four who will qualify for the States next week. OIA Girl’s softball semi final game gets over half a page. State baseball seeding gets better coverage. Some reporter is not doing their job … must have been eating up all the poki at the concession because they ran out!

All eastern champions will be at the top of the bracket and all western champions will be at the bottom. So to someone who doesnt know better it looks like the whole East got #1 seeds while the whole west got #2 seeds
