There is no excuse for that.. Im surprised Maryknoll took so long.

Parents have some part of that to blame because they feel that their kid is an all star and should be starting and if they are not successful on the field, they blame the coach. Maryknoll players are the kids that were on the club championship teams when they were younger but no one really states the fact that the kid(s) were not a big factor on that team and rode the bench. With parents thinking that those starters on the club teams are at different schools, they feel that they’re kid should be playing more and that they are all star players. Coach Kadooka is a realist and if the player isn’t that good, he will let them know it without beating around the bush. It’s not the kids fault they are soft, it’s the parents fault. People say kids have changed but kids haven’t changed. They don’t know anything. The parents are the foundation. Kids will reflect off their parents regardless of what anyone says. This isn’t just at Maryknoll, but many school. Other schools have 20-25 players on their roster. Only half of those players can play. The other half has to understand as well as the parents that there is a reason the kid isn’t starting. If they don’t like it, quit or transfer like everyone else does nowadays instead of working harder. And again, I’m just using Maryknoll as an example.

Kids from Little league, Pop Warner through HS & their parents have Too much say on how their kids should be coached.
Let the coaches coach, the referees ref & the players play!!

Always blaming the coach. Parents are never at fault for your kids being lazy, soft, and unmotivated. The coach isn’t Jesus.

But, even if you use nice words to tell a player he is not good enough to put on a field to win a game, the players and especially the parents wont be happy.

I think his coaching style was an easier target to blame rather than accepting that your child may have some work to do to prove him wrong.

Good luck to Alaka’i and the boys for the rest of the season.
