Your point has some logic. But all-star/all-state teams were never created to replicate games. When all-league teams were created by the Star-Bulletin a half-century ago, they were originally selected by the newspaper. There was an “All-City” selection in football comprised of ILH players, and a separate ROIA selection. Oahu’s population, the talent pool, etc. were nothing like they are today and it applies to almost every sport.

I’m a proponent of expanding baseball and softball to a Fab 15, but I’m fine with the current selection numbers as is, too. It is a topic worthy of more discussion.
