Facilities are a HUGE plus to recruit players…. Just not so much in Hawaii at the high school level. Iolani baseball has not been good every year. Previous to last year, when was the last time they had a legitimate chance to win the ILH over Mid-PAC and Punahou? I can easily list basketball and football as priorities at Iolani before baseball. Now I would actually have to place Punahou at the top of the ILH in terms of year to year baseball dominance.

What the heck are you talking about? Iolani and Mid-Pac are the only two ILH schools with legit baseball facilities. It’s a big reason why those schools are good every year. In other words, Kurt already has one of the best schools to coach baseball in the state. He’d be foolish to leave.

Wow let’s see how things are once the State tournament begins. Too bad TRAPP didn’t do a better job at recruiting more local talent. I’ve never seen quite a dominant offensive team that Iolani has shown thus far. Defense wins championships, and the Raiders pitching is better than average. Iolani better ensure they keep Coach Miyahira around or else some other school will hire him. He seems young and competent to land a long term job at an ILH school.
