Kahuku needs to do a better job getting back on defense. Too much watching movies when they turn the ball over. Also someone other than the Smith kid needs to score. The kid looked like he was playing hurt.

The Kahuku Hateraders are all coming out again after a couple of weeks off from football. That’s okay Kahuku relishes all the critics and skeptics. Lot of people doubted them from winning the OIA football championship and giving St. Louis a battle in the states. True that they don’t have the talent they had last year but don’t be surprised where they end up. They have athletes that can make it happen. That’s why you see t-shirts that say, “Kahuku, Enemy of the State.” Just keep doubting them. It fuels their fire.

Usualy take couple months for kahuk bball team to build chemistry but tolu is the only pure bballer, everyone else is football playerts with no bball skils. No avea or villa type players this year might not even win oia

This score kind of surprised me I thought Kahuku was gonna run past Campbell. It’ll be impossible to expect this year’s Kahuku team to replace the firepower of Avea, Fotu, and Villa. However, IMO the road to successfully defending their state title will require this squad to find bodies who will step up and try to do their best Codie Sauvao and Kesi Ah-Hoy impersonations. Those two guys last year hounded and locked up a lot of the state’s best players on a nightly basis. I would think if they can get 1 or 2 guys to try as best to fill those perimeter defender roles along with Tolu putting up his numbers, Kahuku should be in a decent position to make another run at the state title. Would’ve liked to have seen what Smith could do in the ‘Iolani classic but no invite this year sadly for Kahuku.
