Only one team gets to claim the very top spot at the basketball mountain and it has always been and will continue to be the DIVISION ONE state champion. People all of a sudden want to look at the results of games played in November and December and use that as the most significant criteria to decide where a team should be ranked at the end of the season. Playing Hanalani and UH Lab is not the same as having to play Iolani, Maryknoll, Punahou, Kamehameha, etc. twice. We have come to a point that now we question which of the two state champions is better at the end of the season, D1 or D2. This is a result of teams not playing up to their legit level.

Let’s just say this, maryknoll don’t play basketball, just like saturday, they held the ball for a combine 12mins total with out any penetration nor shot… that means 20mins of play.. cmon… I admire the coach that’s strategy, Hawaii is so far behind with no shot clock and that’s what make it easier for a not so good to beat a good team… I’m just saying on any giving day anyone can beat anyone… I believe Damien has the talent to beat any team in the D-1… but let’s go HHSAA let’s get a shot clock going in Hawaii… would be a lot better to watch the games….

I think they could beat Maryknoll if they had a chance to play again. With how they played on Saturday how on fire they were they were unstoppable. We beat Maryknoll fare and square we were both there to win and we did just that. They had all there players no injuries no excuses we came to play. So to say we could not win Maryknoll you can never say never. The two losses were lessons learned for the team to play harder work harder and play as a team. You live and you learn.

I’m sorry, Damien wouldn’t beat maryknoll especially since they got beat down by Punahou rematch and lost the Saint Francis which Maryknoll never lost to for gods sake. Damien would have been very competitive in D1, but a mistake to think they would beat the Spartans for the D1 title.
