I don’t see them in the top 4. I would have the top 4 at this point as:
1. Punahou
2. Maryknoll
3. Iolani
4. Farrington

As far as States, Kam has 4 losses and has no chance to win the regular season ILH (no automatic bid). Maryknoll with 1 loss has the upper hand but has games against Punahou and Kam. Punahou has 2 losses with remaining games with Maryknoll and Iolani. Iolani has 3 losses with remaining games with St. Louis and Punahou. Farrington has the best chance at moving up in the polls, with a remaining game they should win against Kahuku.

1. Maryknoll
2. Farrington
3. Kamehameha
4. Punahou
5. Iolani
6. Baldwin
7. Konawaena
8. Kalaheo
9. Campbell
10. Moanalua

I see your rationale about putting Kamehameha at No. 1, but you can’t penalize the ones who didn’t lose last week. When Auburn beat Alabama, they weren’t No. 1 the immediate week after. Just my two pennies

I’m just waiting for you to explain why you lessen Spartans win over kamehameha since it was 2 weeks ago but overweight their loss to punahou when it was in the same week!

Cherry pick? I guess that’s one way of putting it. I do include the big picture in my analysis, can’t help that. But it still takes a back seat to current results, especially head to head. CURRENT means more than December or early January.

I know it’s all splitting hairs, but when the ballot is here and it’s time to vote again, I’m going to have a different list every time because things change all the time.

Btw, this is a BLOG. You, me and everybody else with an opinion is free to share it instantly. There will be no retracting of anything. But thanks for caring about “good journalism” anyway.

AGAIN… what would your ballot look like, “Steve”? I’d like to see what unflawed logic you use for your list of No. 1 to No. 10. To me, polls are whipped cream. Tastes good, fun, but it’s not exactly a science, though we can try to be logical.

Your flawed logic is based on week to week instead of looking at the big picture which all the other polls look at. All the teams played each other once. Iolani lost (Kam & Maryknoll) and Punahou (Iolani and Kam) and Kam lost 3 times (Iolani, Pun & Maryknoll) while Maryknoll lost only once (Punahou).

FYI they lost to punahou and beat kamehameha in the same week! So I like how you cherry pick your facts minimizing they beat kamehameha 2 weeks ago but 2 days later after that win they lose to Punahou. They won their last 2 games last week against mid pac and crusaders thus they moved up. You really need to get your facts straight when you losing to punahou and moving up.

You should really retract your article. Doesn’t look like good journalism.

Well, Steve, Maryknoll beat Kamehameha, but that was two long weeks ago, and my ballot at the time reflected that week’s results.

Last week, Maryknoll lost to Punahou, period. I like watching them play, but as I wrote, them losing to Punahou and moving up to No. 1 made no sense. It might make complete sense after this week with Kamehameha losing to Saint Louis.

I’ve seen a few games. If you’ve seen a few, too, feel free to list your Top 10. I’ll spare you the name-calling if you stick to basketball. I’m ready to debate if you’re up to it.

We’ll see. But I did have STL at No. 9 on my ballot. I’ll take a little solace in that.

I still stand by my argument for Kamehameha at No. 1 last week. This week, no, no, no…

You know that Maryknoll manhandled Kamehameha right? So either you are purposely leaving information out or you haven’t watched any of the games. I’m leaning towards you’re an idiot given that Kamehameha just lost to the Crusaders. So Crusaders should be #1 right? What a clown.
