Easy to generalize, but this is a group of nearly 30 athletic directors and nearly 30 principals, along with other officials. It operates more like a state department than a lab for creative thought, and most people within the bureaucracy would argue that this is essential. There are some very bright, creative individuals within the OIA. Question is whether we'll see flexibility and consistency prevail. After all, if a teacher stresses daily attendance and consistent excellence in the classroom, why wouldn't the same standard apply to athletics?
