The underclassmen (& Kordel) is who stepped up in those games. I’m not saying that he isn’t a good player because he is probably one of my favorite players. But, in no way should you take that championship away from Maryknoll by saying that if he was playing they would’ve won. Because he was playing in the preseason game and they LOST. Maryknoll earned it.

What I’m trying to say is that without him the entire team stepped up in those other 3 games. In the final game they had a lot of missed shots and Maryknoll had SEVEN players who scored. That is a TRUE TEAM. And if you need to be reminded one of them was playing with a torn meniscus and missing cartilage AND scored 16 points. That kid is a team player who is a great leader, a great team player, and so strong on the inside. So, please when you say that “would’ve won the State if not injured” that puts down the team that they played against and its very rude to all his teammates who play on his team. It was just hard luck for Kamehameha. I know you probably like the kid as many of us do but think of how you could be hurting others at the same time. Remember it takes a TEAM to win not just one person.
