If these schools don’t give their athletes a safe place to play sports then they’ll be at all the city parks playing pick-up basketball and 7 on 7 with no safety protocols in place. Coaches and parents are taking it upon themselves to give their kids a chance to compete.

At least at Saint Louis and the other ILH schools that are allowing the use of their gyms have protocols in place to keep coaches/support staff and players safe. It’s not 100% proof but at least there are layers of protection in place. Do you have an idea that could help the situation or are you just trying to put an end to letting these kids play? It’s about the kids and they should have everyone’s support. Not people hating on the only good thing we got going for our High school kids. Just my opinion 🤙🏼

If it is within the rules, well then it is open season for other teams to start playing.

If they are within the rules, I think it could be a way for private schools to make some money during these rough business times. They can charge other club teams (basketball and volleyball) to play games in their gyms. This might also give the City a kick in the butt to start opening up the public gyms.

On the opposite hand, if these games are violating the rules, then somebody obviously needs to shut it down and issue the proper reprimands.

Either way, just do something to let everybody else know what’s going on. This concept of sticking one’s head in the sand by City and State agencies is getting old already.
