There is also relatively ‘unknown’ (C.J. Chipley) who coached AAU and played both HS and D-3 basketball in Tennessee. He has served as an advisor for a few Big Island teams & has lived in Hawaii for the past 10yrs. Definitely a players coach with focus on fundamentals and enriching youth both on and off the court.

This is like the 3rd of 4th comment section I’ve had to spell this out for you. I could care less about any other sport but if Damien or any other school is brining in talent for sports but playing down at D2, then yeah, I feel like they are sandbagging and I’ve called them out. Damien’s baseball team is 0-6 right now. If they were undefeated beating the Punahous and Iolanis with transferred talent, but competing D2 still, then I’d have an issue. And don’t even start about hating you are all over this site calling out people who aren’t praising Kahuku in any way shape or form.

Coach Ron Durant is a great coach and he is from the windward-side. He would be a great coach at Castle! If he were at Castle, Kordel Ng may consider playing for his former coach and his hometown school. Coach Durant would bring instant credibility, much needed stability, and a renewed sense of pride to the once proud CASTLE KNIGHTS!

It should be Hirata’s if he wants it. In addition to being an alumnus of ‘Iolani, he built a competitive program at MPI that he should be proud of. If not, Akana is light years more appealing than any other name listed in this article.
