They taking the OIA’s best players. I remember the day when Radford and their fine popolo players dominated the OIA. They was in the state semis every year for 8 years in a row 1966 to 1974. Their last state basketball championship in 1989, all popolo starting 5 led by Troy McCoy and Lamont Davis. They used to own OIA track and field too. But that was during the Cold War with the USSR. I gotta wonder if Pearl Harbor reduced their personnel levels after the Cold War. Who knows? I remember all the star popolo football players for Radford. Homer Jones, RB for BYU. Al Harris of Leilehua, top 5 player in the NFL draft. Adrian Murrell, also of Leilehua, 3 consecutive 1,000 yard rushing season s in the NFL. Jeris White of Radford who was a 2nd pick in the NFL.
