Damien does miss Boogie. Nobody can step up because I watched many of their games whether scouting or playing against my son and its easy to beat Damien because their coach don’t utilize anyone on their bench until its too late. 4th quarter the starters are too tired and start playing park ball and one on one basketball in other words hero ball. No teamwork and just a bunch of talented kids trying to be the hero. Punahou easily takes the 3rd spot for states unless Damien’s coaches give Hayden some help; i’m sure there’s a ball handler on that bench who doesn’t care to score but to help move the ball around its called teamwork. Tonight Mid Pac takes it over Damien.

ILH is up for grabs at this point. I think Kamehameha and Maryknoll will be in the states. That third spot is up for grabs. Really competitive in the ILH night in and night out. Don’t count out any team in this league. Things will happen if you don’t take care of business. Damien misses Boogie a lot, Hayden needs help in the backcourt. Someone needs to step up for the Monarchs. Punahou is dangerous, St. Louis is coming around, Mid Pac is the sleeper and Iolani will be the spoiler in a rebuilding year. ILH is tough from top to bottom.

It wouldn’t have been the worst idea to stay in D2. You just get to dominate lower competition all while receiving high accolades and then you leave the “what if” questions to never be answered because you don’t have to play D1 teams. The last three years showed that you can win a D2 title and still have players win the Star Advertiser and Gatorade Player of the Year and in the Fab 15. Heck, you can also not even make the state tournament in this state and be POY.
