That is true, Nakamura, but members of the media need an escort in addition to the pass. I have done this many times. Thanks for reading.

We all need a pass. You can get one by applying at the alley but until you receive it you need a daily pass from Lyman gate.
As for Morishige we can agree to disagree.

Thanks for catching the mistake. This might be a little bit more than what you were asking for, Nakamura, but for us bowling is probably the hardest to cover. As members of the media, we have to call two days ahead and be escorted onto the bases where the events are held. We can’t just walk through like parents and fans can, and that restricts us a little bit and leaves us at the mercy of the leagues to report scores and they are very prompt at it. But the OIA’s scoresheet only lists the top bowler for each team. I am sure the second and third best bowlers were probably from Pearl City, but I can’t write their names down if they are not listed. As for the line about Morishige, I think we can agree that she was an important part of the last three titles because all of the players on the team are important.

Mostly, thanks for catching the error.

But it just shows how little coverage the sport gets when the writer of the article doesn’t know that the boys team has held the OIA title the past 5 years.

I changed Pearl City’s consecutive boys OIA title count to five. Thanks for the nice and respectful clarification Y. Nakamura. We appreciate your readership.

In fact they have won the last 5 OIA WEST, OIA and STATE titles. Also bowling is a TEAM sport 5 players make up a legal lineup so maybe you should give the other 4 girls some credit for PCHS Girls State titles. Chelsi’s 1st year she was the only one of the starting 5 NOT to medal in States! So how do you come up with “she was an important part of Pearl City’s last three title sweeps”? When writing about a team sport please don’t forget the “TEAM”!!!
