DOE decision is wrong for so many reasons. This shot has serious side effects. An 18 year old on Oahu got the shot so he could wrestle his senior year, and ended up in the hospital with myocarditis ( heart inflammation).
Young athletes are at virtually no risk from COVID. The shot doesn’t prevent infection and spreading.
This is about control.

What a joke this state has become. You can eat in restaurants, you can go to school and sit in a full classroom, but you can’t play sports. ILH can play sports, where’s the difference that makes this a must.

Hawaii is always operating at a cover my okole and afraid to make mistakes. The general population suffers the most and not the decision makers who continue to get paid despite making decisions that have caused many local businesses to suffer if not close for good. Statistics out there show sports are not a high risk for transmission of virus but the socializing going on around the event. No fans just teams, coaches, refs and medical staff. Let them play. Oh and make everyone do testing or vaccination, not just athletes, that’s discrimination.

$$$ is the reason. This is such a sue happy world with so much greedy people in it that the State needs to protect themselves and us the tax payers. If a kid contracts this virus and ends up losing his life can you imagine the sue job the DOE will face.

If the parents were smart just ask them to move it to spring already. No way they can have a full season now. Move to spring and allow transfers in. So you can take your kid to mainland, play fall (cause everywhere else is playing). Then come back and then play here in Hawaii in Spring?

What’s the difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated?

Both can carry the virus therefore both should get tested for the virus. Just be you’re vaccinated that shouldn’t make you exempt from getting tested.

Football is a privilege. Education is a right. Powers that be, can cancel football this season too. Take this 7 week break and hope we can start HS football on 9/24/2021.
