Track and Field is still a ways away, but a lineup of track and field stars will provide instruction at the University of Hawaii on Feb. 11-12.

World Record Camps are hitting Oahu for the first time in Hawaii with a lineup of Olympic legends and is not limited to track and field athletes. The release boasts that it can help athletes of any sport.

The camp features Olympic and world champions Michelle Carter (throws), Willie Banks (triple jump), Dick Fosbury (high jump), Tom Hintnaus (pole vault), Andre Phillips (hurdles), Jacqueline Hansen (distance), Mike Powell (long jump) and Gregg Simmons (sprints).

Phillips is a gold medalist in the 400 meter hurdles while Banks held the world record in the triple jump and Powell holds the current world record in the long jump. Hansen once held the record in the marathon and Fosbury created the familiar ‘Fosbury Flop” technique in the high jump.

Jeaney Garcia of the Positive Coaching Alliance is putting the event on, she can be reached at 226-4935 or jeaney@positivecoach.org.
