MPI hoping to recover from injuries soon

Liz Kam has seen a lot in her years as a basketball player at Punahou, and as an assistant coach.

When she was hired to become varsity girls coach at Mid-Pacific, Kam was prepared for every possibility that might come along for a growing program. She had no idea, however, that the Owls would ever forfeit games.

Mid-Pacific has forfeited its first three ILH regular-season games due to injuries. One player has a leg contusion. Three others have suffered concussions. The Owls began the season with just seven players, already a very low number. Kam is optimistic, though, about the possible return of two players in time for Saturday’s matchup with Sacred Hearts.
