A momentus night as the Hawaii Interscholastic Athletic Directors Association conference begins.
Former Kailua softball coach Bernard Victor and current Konawaena girls basketball coach Bobbie Awa will be honored tonight for their service and dedication. I’m sticking around to enjoy the festivities. There are a lot of super people who happen to be great coaches. Coach Bernard and Coach Bobbie are definitely among them.
As for the conference, it’s a light year in terms of heavy topics, but there was the usual committee discussion. They’ll have league caucuses tonight for possible strategic maneuvering in tomorrow’s debate and voting. Or not.
Update 10:20 p.m. The banquet tonight got done around 9:30, and league caucauses were way behind. No word on whether they would still meet tonight.
