VIDEO: Horn, Sato, Erickson named specialist MVPs

Specialist MVPs at the GPA Showcase football combine are placekicker Tim Horn and long snapper Tyler Sato of Punahou, and punter Ethan Erickson of Kahuku. Paul Honda/Star-Advertiser, June 6, 2018.

Wednesday was a winning day for Tim Horn.

The 6-foot-3 Punahou senior-to-be began the day with a call from the University of Washington, which offered him a football scholarship. That gives Horn, a placekicker, offers from three schools. The other two are Hawaii and Army.

Then, in the afternoon under a blazing-hot sun at Kunuiakea Stadium, Horn was named most valuable player among the PKs.

His classmate, Tyler Sato, was named the MVP Long Snapper by coaches.

Kahuku’s 6-5 senior-to-be, Ethan Erickson, was selected the MVP Punter.

I dont think RR plan to punt too much this season. But, its good to have a great punter ready.
