McKinley’s homecoming game is underway. Kahuku is visiting. (Paul Honda / Star-Advertiser)

7:43 p.m.
The game is just underway. Look for Brian McInnis’ game story in tomorrow’s Star-Advertiser. Kahuku received the opening kickoff and is driving. Ball at the Tigers’ 39-yard line.

9:51 p.m.
Injury time out for McKinley’s Pono Kini. He returned a punt partially blocked by Tyrell Tuiasosopo down the sideline to the 11-yard line. Looks like an ankle injury. He was down twice earlier for an injury to his arm or shoulder. Tough kid.

First time in a long time I’ve been at a game that didn’t have a no-huddle opening drive.

8:38 p.m.
Chevas Pacheco back at QB for the Tigers. He launches a bomb to Tyrell Tuiasosopo for an 82-yard TD. Kahuku 30, McKinley 14, 1:21, second quarter.

7:46 p.m.
TOuchdown pass from Tuli Matagi-Wily to Kuuliko Carvalho, straight streak route with eight Tigers in the box. PAT fails, Kahuku 6, McKinley 0.

7:50 p.m.
McKinley linebacker Mathias Tuitele-Iafeta returns a fumble by Kahuku QB Matagi-Wily 47 yards for a touchdown. Tigers add the PAT and lead 7-6.

7:57 p.m.
A 46-yard pass from Matagi-Wily to Carvalho sets up a 24-yard field goal by Jake Samsel. Red Raiders 9, Tigers 7, 4:29, first quarter.

Neither team has no-huddled. At all. This feels like an old-fashioned game. Kinda refreshing.

8:17 p.m.
Polikapo Liua Jr. with a 1-yard TD run. Kahuku 16, McKinley 7, 8:35, second quarter. Long reverse run by Carvalho set up the score.

8:23 p.m.
Right after a McKinley punt, Matagi-Wily connects with Huleia Naeole on a 30-yard touchdown pass. Kahuku leads 23-7.

Tigers have used Tuitele-Iafeta at quarterback for the past two possessions.

8:33 p.m.
Another quick strike. Matagi-Wily to Liua right down the middle for a 50-yard TD. Kahuku 30, McKinley 7, 2:05, second quarter.

8:46 p.m.
Big break for McKinley. Their punt snap bounced and bounced until Kahuku recovered at about the Tigers 4-yard line with 1 or 2 seconds left. But officials ruled the half is over.

9:26 p.m.
After a long Tigers homecoming halftime, Kahuku’s Hiapo McCandless scores on a 1-yard run to the left. Kahuku 37, McKinley 14, 5:22, third quarter.

9:39 p.m.
Red Raiders drive to the 1, where Matagi-Wily fumbles on a sneak attempt and McKinley recovers in the end zone for a touchback.

McKinley’s Gerime Bradley just broke off a nice 56-yard run after being stonewalled two times. This guy is a beast. He plays every down on defense, returns kicks and gets snaps on offense when possible. And he makes great open-field tackles.

9:57 p.m.
Tuitele-Iafeta scores from 1 yard out on a handoff up the middle, and Gerime Bradley scores on the 2-point conversion on a toss sweep. Kahuku 37, McKinley 22, less than 9 minutes left.

10:10 p.m.
Tigers drive on Kahuku’s prevent defense and score on a 4-yard TD pass from Pacheco to Bradley. Down 37-29, they opt to go for 2 rather than kick. Kahuku stops the run up the middle. Kahuku 37, McKinley 28, less than 3 minutes to play.

Kahuku just recovered the on-side kick.

10:18 p.m.
Wily-Matagi scores on a 2-yard keeper. Kahuku 44, McKinley 28, :03, fourth quarter.
