Saint Louis defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele picked up another Pac-12 offer on Tuesday, this one from the reigning conference champions.

Washington, which advanced to the College Football Playoff this past season, joins USC, Oregon and Utah out of the Pac-12 to offer Tuitele already. The 6-foot-3, 270-pound sophomore also holds offers from BYU, Hawaii, Ole Miss, Fresno State and Vanderbilt.

Is he is a true sophmore or was he held back like a lot of ILH players? He is an awsome player and will get way more offers by the time he graduates.

With all that offers from great mainland colleges, our State University, our Warrior football team will again be shunned by this local kid. I wonder if it would be any difference in the future if our current Warrior head football coach Nick Rolovich will lead our Warriors to the MWC championship, be ranked in the top 20, that would make our local kids consider staying home. I personally think it will not.
Maybe if our Athletic facilities was upgraded and was invited to the PAC-12 conference, just maybe will get a few top local athletes to stay home. But again its a “FAT CHANCE” on getting an upgraded facilities (State having trouble budgeting their budget) and of course being invited to the PAC12.

UH had their chance to keep local talent, but instead they picked Rolovich. Heard he is a nice guy but hasnt in 2 years been able to keep any one of significance home. Gotta think that Miano would have fared better. Oh well, try your best coach and lets hope some kids like playing in front of family and friends instead of strangers who cant pronounce your name.

Is it just me or is posting how many offers you have a little bragging?
Kid is an awesome talent and deserves credit, but shouldnt someone else brag for him?
Maybe just say blessed for UW offer instead of saying its his 9th offer?
This is for all athletes not about this kid, Humility is something we should all strive to teach our Keiki, otherwise we will have more brawls in the HIgh school stands.
Just my opinion, and again this kid is awesome and deserves credit, just someone else should be doing it.

Oh my gawd, almost every kid in the nation is pretty much tweeting their offers. And for @hwnstyll comment about not keeping anyone of significance is kind of rude, especially for the kids that did choose U.H …. Miano is not the choice for U.H BTW, imo…. he can go give mainland college’s a shot and see how he does.

    @hynstyll
SMH. Just like Alpha said. All the kids in the nation posts about their offers. Check out twitter all the high school athletes are doing it. Plus on Twitter it’s more easy for kids to interact with college coaches. Got to get with the program man. Lol

Sorry I guess I am out of touch with two of my sons going to D1 with multiple offers in the last 5 years. Neither posted about their offers , just commitments.
Again what I said was it was normal to post an offer, just wondered why all kids in the U.S. tell everyone how many they are up to in these offers? Seems to lack humility to me.
You can only attend one school.
Anyhow, sorry if I ruffled feathers, have a nice day.

hwnstyll the same reason you post every little thing you do on FaceBook is the same reason these kids post all their accomplishments on social media. Its natural to want to share your accomplishments. I like how you added in your 2 sons. Congratulations.

Anyone knows who was the player from NorCal that floored the local QB and started to showboat and got the crowd riled up? Does he have any scholarship offers and did he accept? Hope none from UH we don’t need that kind of players.

  10. amela January 19, 2017 11:58 am

I’m starting to realize that we keep trying to keep the good players home but instead of stressing over it there are a lot of good players on the mainland and around the world who would love to play here. What you gonna do, wasting to much time complaining about the ones that go away. Not recruiting home boys is not a guarantee for wins.

  11. phILHarmonic January 20, 2017 9:17 am

ROLO is making an effort to keep the best home, sometimes the best dont want to stay home, or feel that other schools have more to offer in ways of experiences, facilities, freedom from parents. The biggest “chip” that UH has to offer is to be able to play at home in front of family, for some that isnt enough. I honestly think that we have to focus on finding ways to win, either with local players or without, because thats what really puts people in the stands. Having local players on the field when you win is the cherry on top.

Just because everyone is tweeting and instagraming dont mean its right or wrong. Us old school guys cannot or dont want to understand it because we were raised differently. Im just afraid to see what the evolution will be for this. Tattoo’s? Billboards? T.v commercials?
Or maybe like that silly BABY REVEAL stuff everyone is doing. They smash one pinata and rainbow candy fall out to reveal that they playing for THE University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors!!!!! (see how I brought it back?)

BTW, did you see? Its the 3rd week of January and the University of Hawaii football team just completed their 1st week of off-season training. Less than a month ago they were playing in the Hawaii Bowl, Good stuff.

OH YEAHHHHH, Happy Friday ya’ll, have a great day.
