Poi Report: Update 2/2

Here’s a look at many of the local players who may play college football next season. This is, by no means, and end-all type of list. If you know of a player who has committed or is receiving interest from a college, please post in the comments section or e-mail me (phonda@staradvertiser.com).

Our recruiting story ran in this morning’s Star-Advertiser and focused on Division I (FBS) university prospects. This Poi Report update will focus on current high school players (seniors and below) who may play at any level of college football, including junior colleges. Any athlete willing to pay the price and sacrifice to achieve a dream, well, I want to know. And keep track.

I’m expecting a ton (literally) of updates this week. Letter-of-intent signing day is on Wednesday, which means PIAA will host another big signing-day ceremony — their 10th — at the Sheraton Waikiki early in the morning. PIAA executive director Doris Sullivan said if you know a student-athlete who will sign that morning, he or she is welcome to join the ceremony. For more information, go to piaahawaii.com.
