PIAA Combine, Max Exposure camp

by Paul Honda on May 8, 2014

The 13th annual Under Armour-PIAA Hawaii high school football combine is filling up quickly.

The event, which will be held May 31 at Mililani High School’s John Kauinana Stadium, is open to players in grades 9 through 12. PIAA administrative director Doris Sullivan said that about 200 of the 260 spots have been filled.

Cost is $25.

A week after that, the Maximum Exposure camp hosted by Gridiron Performance Academy will be held June 6-8 at Kauinana Stadium. Sullivan said that the camp is not a PIAA event, but that they support it. Rod York (Mililani), Rich Miano (Kaiser) and Chad Ikei are some of the coaches helping with the camp, which already has dozens of college coaches signed up to attend.

The three-day camp cost is $165. There are discounts for players who sign up as a team for both events, Sullivan said.

“Coach York, Coach Miano and Coach Ikei jumped at the opportunity to help bring exposure to local athletes,” she noted.

Coaches from Arizona State, Colorado, Hawaii, Kansas, Utah, Stanford are among the Division I schools that will be represented, Sullivan said. There will also be coaches from Diablo Valley, Occidental, Pacific, Virginia Union and Western New Mexico.

“The reason it’s called Maximum Exposure is because we have colleges from all levels for the camp,” Sullivan said.

Mahalo Paul! It looks like its going to be a great Camp! Although it is not a PIAA function, I am the administrative director of the camp and am keeping track of enrollment and its looking great! I suggest any athlete wanting to attend the camp register early. Payment options are available, so check the website! The Under Armour-PIAA Combine is filling fast. If you want to get that awesome $79.99 UA shirt, better register now, walk up space may be limited at best. The Directors of the Maximum Exposure Camp, Rich Miano and Chad Ikei of GPA Football are hitting the schools with information. We’re gathering the best coaches from around the country so this will be where high school football players should be June 6, 7, 8. Really, why spend thousands of dollars to go to camps with 500+ kids on the field when you can get noticed right here at home for $165 – which includes lunch, camp shirt and the best college instruction anywhere!
